The summers I spent working on a survey crew during high school cemented my interest of civil and later structural engineering. I enjoy the challenge and different types of projects VAA is part of.

About Gary Nagel
After more than 30 years of experience with VAA in the agribusiness industry, Gary has seen it all – almost. And it’s that “almost” that drives him to do, learn and mentor more. As one of the most experienced structural engineers on staff, Gary offers specialized experience in seismic and dynamic load analysis and design, building structures and industrial and bunker / silo design for grain unit train and milling facilities.
He is also a trusted mentor and supervisor to less experienced engineers, reviewing drawings and calculations and offering assistance with a wide variety of client project questions and needs. As a testament to his effective teaching practices, most engineers at VAA are given the opportunity to collaborate with Gary and learn from his experience in the industry.
