The Cargill Animal Nutrition plant in Wooster, Ohio, was built in 1993 to cater to the dairy market in Ohio, and expanded in the late 1990’s to support Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Kentucky markets. Managed by Susanna Wright, the “Wooster” plant was awarded 2011 Feed Mill of the Year by the American Feed Industry Association and Feedstuffs.
Recognized for industry leadership, Wooster is additionally compliant to FDA requirements and the Bio Terrorism Act, has an SPCC Plan certification by a professional engineer and AFIA’s Safe Feed/Safe Food Certification Program in 2010.
Wooster’s success is attributed to its focus on supporting employee engagement, to committed employees and to Cargill’s high emphasis on employee safety, as demonstrated by zero lost time accidents since 2004. Cargill’s commitment to the Wooster plant, its employees and the community is further evidenced by the recent investment of over $1 million in new equipment and dramatic contributions to numerous local charitable organizations.
